Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND)

The Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) addresses issues related to international drug control, the prevention of drug abuse, and the regulation of narcotic substances, while focusing on promoting public health, safety, and international cooperation in combating drug-related challenges.

As the principal policymaking body of the United Nations on drug-related matters, the CND is responsible for developing international drug control policies, monitoring the implementation of global drug control treaties, and facilitating cooperation among member states. In the context of addressing global drug-related challenges, the CND contributes by promoting evidence-based prevention and treatment strategies, combating illicit drug trafficking, strengthening national drug control institutions, and encouraging international collaboration to balance public health priorities with law enforcement efforts.
